The Raising Equity Intensive is a two-day workshop designed to give builders, developers, and real estate professionals the tools to raise capital, structure deals, and scale their development business.

It’s built on the same systems and frameworks used by the Laidler Capital team to deploy over $40 million annually into real projects across Metro Vancouver. You’ll learn directly from active practitioners, not career presenters, and walk away with strategies you can implement immediately to attract investors, package deals, and lead profitable projects.

Our sessions include live instruction, real case studies, group work, and direct access to experts in acquisitions, investor relations, legal structuring, marketing, and development finance.

We require you to meet some minimum entry requirements to be allowed in the room. These requirements include but are not limited to being active in business, a revenue threshold and operating in municipalities where we are confident we can provide value. Where is the workshop located?

Our Raising Equity Intensive Workshop are hosted at different locations throughout the year (typically Vancouver, Burnaby or Port Moody). Please confirm location upon application.

Will there be food, snacks, refreshments?

Yes, this is a privately catered event. You will be able to enjoy Coffee and refreshments throughout the event. Plus, lunch and more beverages will be provided. What time does Raising Equity start and end each day?

Doors open each morning at 8:30am. The Raising Equity Workshop begins at 9:00am and ends at 2:30pm, with doors closing at 3:00pm.

What will I learn each day? 

Day 1

Builds the foundational systems to grow sustainably. Topics include Securities Commission Regulations, Acquisition Strategy, Risk Mitigation. There will also be a short review on the Recent Housing Policy Changes, the Development Proforma, Legal Agreements and Case Studies.

Day 2

You will learn how to raise capital, manage cash flow, and work with investors and homeowners to accelerate growth. You will also get an opportunity to present your pitch deck in front of your peers and the Laidler Capital Team.
